About the Artist

Dutch artist Mariëtte van Temmen creates layered works that move between drawing, painting and organic abstraction. Her visual language unfolds through delicate linear structures, subtle rhythms and transparent layers that evoke root systems, cellular formations and inner landscapes.

Working intuitively, Mariëtte allows each composition to emerge gradually through a process of layering, interruption and rediscovery. Her practice balances control and surrender, structure and openness, resulting in works that feel both fragile and powerful. Rather than depicting a fixed reality, her work explores processes of growth, connection and transformation. Lines extend, intersect and dissolve, creating visual networks that suggest both natural systems and human experience. What appears quiet at first often reveals hidden movement, tension and depth.
